Bookshelf Block - Butcher Knife with Cookbooks

 

Stabby stabby. I'm not too good at cooking or following recipes even though I've taken a few cooking classes. Nevertheless, my family is full of great cooks and my bookshelves have plenty of cookbooks. So I'll be adding this block to the mix as I continue to build blocks for my bookshelf quilt. Bookshelf Block - Snow White's Apple

 

An apple for the bookshelf. Pattern provided by FandomInStitches.com. I chose to add this block because of the whimsy fairy tale it represents. I also fussy cut some fabric to represent parrots I had the joy of caring for in the past and I love the "Make Do And Mend" phrase on my creators fabric.

Bookshelf Block - Acromantula

 

I wanted to add this large tarantula to my bookshelf quilt partially to remember a tarantula my son had when he was younger and partially because I secretly admire spiders and the wonderful webs they weave. Pattern is from a Harry Potter set provided by FandomInStitches.com

Crystal Ball Block for Bookshelf Quilt

Much of this fabric is glitter and metallic so it tends to shine quite nicely when viewing in person.

Things did not work so well on this block. I may have to re-make it. For now however, this is a block for my bookshelf quilt to represent Pirates of the Caribbean.
