     PuddleCam (Turtle Pond WebCam)
The PicOlio PuddleCam!

The PicOlio PuddleCam Observatory is powered by the Canon VB-C50iR Network Camera Server. The camera is set to tour the area constantly between 6:30am and 8:30pm ET every day and collects images throughout its tours resulting in at least one of the web images being updated every few seconds and all of the images being updated numerous times throughout the day. At the end of each day the images are reviewed with the best shots of each day being stored within the PuddleCam Gallery.

Below are the latest images retrieved by the camera. Quality of the image depends greatly on the lighting and distance from the camera which stands about 10 feet high and about 15 feet from the ponds northeast corner.

Occassionally there's a floating basking area that gets trapped for a while.... The camera will point at it when it does....but of course can't when it goes back on the move ;)

This 90 gallon lotus and lily preformed pond sits on top of a rock lined hill spilling into the main pond. Providing the turtles do not navigate their way up to this delectable diner that is filled with their favorite treats, the water lily and lotus plants should bloom beautifully above the main pond.

The only location we can really get a decent sky shot for watching the clouds and other weather related events.... fortunately, it's one of the most active locations for a sky shot as well. If you watch carefully you may see a hawk on the weather station as well as one on the windmill.

Intended for the blue jays, song birds, cardinals, and hummingbirds, the squirrels seem to enjoy this feeder more often than not. We're almost guaranteed to capture several shots a day of squirrels balancing on the feeders and stealing its delectable treats.

Image From 8:31:17 PM on July 29, 2005 | Next Update At 08:39:47 PM on July29, 2005

A new addition to the pond is Turtle Island. We've dared to open up the liner right in the middle of the pond for the planting of a Queen Palm in hopes of creating a semi-shady center zone for the turtles.
