Remembering when you were so little,
I could hold you in the palm of my hand.

Remembering that as you grew older,
You truly became my dearest and best friend.

Remembering all of the happiness and
how much laughter we both shared.

Remembering how special it felt
comforting you when you were scared.

Remembering the unconditional love
that you so liberally gave to me.

Remembering how much you made
my life so delightfully complete.

Remembering the intense sadness,
when you were suddenly taken away.

Remembering how much I truly miss you,
each and every passing day.

Remembering you as you peacefully rest,
trying to cope with the fact that you're gone.

Remembering you is all that I have now,
Forever in me your memory lives on.

If tears could build a stairway
And memories were a lane
We would walk right up to heaven
And bring you back again

No farewell words were spoken
No time to say goodbye
You were gone before we knew it
And only God knows why

Our hearts still ache in sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No one can ever know

But now we know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store

If it should be that I grow weak,
And the pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then you must do what must be done,
For this last battle cannot be won,
You will be sad, I understand,
Don't let your grief then stay your hand,
For this day more than all the rest,

We've had so happy years,
What is to come can hold no fears,
You'd not want me to suffer so,
