Calamity & Hydra's Story:
Recovering Female Northern Diamondback Terrapins

Day 19: Sunbathing
Mar 06, 2004

With temps in the mid 80s, blue skies and plenty of sunlight to bathe in, the girls decided to hit the sandy beaches within their outdoor waterlandtub. Both immediately climbed up to bask in the warmth of the ever important sunlight and outside of a few dips in the water to cool off have been bathing for several hours now.

Both are eating very well, however, Calamity is still the most aggressive when it comes to feeding time. I've caught Calamity more than once stealing food straight from Hydra's mouth and for this reason must 'babysit' their meals carefully to ensure Hydra get's her fair share.

I wish their shells could heal faster but must keep reminding myself that they didn't get this way overnight and it is going to take doubly as long for them to get better. I'm just thrilled that they are behaving normally now, even with the poor conditions.
